Small salt-gel cubes that melt at about 26 °C. Melting uses heat, and that heat comes from your head. The cubes sit in a quilted sleeve inside your pillowcase. No plastic wrapper, no cables, no fridge.

What it is
A small cube of salt-based gel in a thin silicone skin. No plastic wrapper. It melts at about 26 °C, which is cooler than your skin.
A quilted cotton sleeve with one pocket per cube, so the cubes stay in place. The sleeve goes inside your normal pillowcase.
50 or 100 cubes, one sleeve, and a bag for spares. Use a few cubes for a light touch, or fill every pocket.
One pillow, many small cubes. If one cube fails, you change one cube, not the whole pad.
How it works
The gel is a phase-change material, or PCM. Ice is a PCM at 0 °C. Ours works at about 26 °C, so it needs no freezer.
In a room cooler than 26 °C, the gel inside each cube is solid. Think of a very slow ice cube that sets on its own.
Skin is about 33 °C. When your head rests on the pillow, heat flows from your head into the cubes.
Melting takes a lot of heat. While a cube melts, it stays at about 26 °C instead of warming up to the temperature of your head.
When the room is cooler than 26 °C, the gel goes solid again. Turn the pillow over, or wait for the morning.
On the scale: Fridge, about 4 °C Cubes melt, about 26 °C Skin, about 33 °C
We publish the numbers when we have measured them. Until then, we promise no hours and no degrees.

For comparison, in UK and EU shops: simple gel pillow mats cost about €10 to €30. A gel pad from a bedding brand costs about €40 to €75. A pillow with a PCM layer costs about €95 to €170. Bed cooling systems with a pump cost €500 and more.
Safety
The gel is salt, water, and a thickener. It is not food. If someone swallows some, give them water and call your local poison centre or a doctor.
A child or a pet can bite a cube open. Keep the kit out of their reach. Never put it in a cot or a pet bed.
Do not put the cubes in an oven, a microwave, or a tumble dryer. Keep them away from heaters. They need no fridge and no freezer.
No medical claims. The cubes are for comfort. They do not treat or prevent heatstroke, fever, hot flushes, sleep problems, or any illness. If you feel ill in the heat, call a doctor.

No. You reserve a place on a list. Nothing is charged, and we have no card details. When the kits are ready, we email you, and you decide then.
Three reasons. A pad that fails goes in the bin, but a cube that fails is one cube. You choose how many cubes go under your head. And many small cubes bend with the pillow.
A phase-change material. It melts and sets at a chosen temperature, It uses a lot of heat to melt, and gives that heat back when it sets. Ice is a PCM at 0 °C. Our gel is a PCM at about 26 °C.
We do not know yet, and we will not guess. We are measuring it now, under a head, in a warm room. We put the numbers on this page when we have them.
No. The cubes set again on their own when the room is cooler than about 26 °C. In a bedroom that stays warmer than that all night, they may not set, and we are testing that too.
Water, sodium sulfate (Glauber’s salt), table salt, a small amount of borax, and a thickener. The skin is silicone. It is not food, and it should stay away from small children and pets. See Safety.
